Author Bio
Gabriela Martinez Sainzis the Director of the Centre for Human Rights Studies, an independent and not-for-profit think tank that develops research-led and evidence-based projects to eradicate violence and discrimination, advance social justice and strengthen respect for human rights across Latin America. She holds a PhD in Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Research from the University of Cambridge. As a researcher, Gabriela is a member of the National System of Researchers in Mexico, certified by the Council of Science and Technology. She has been affiliated with the Center for Governance and Human Rights of the University of Cambridge, and also the Center for Socio-legal Studies of the University of Oxford where she collaborated in the UNESCO-funded project “Countering Online Hate Speech.” As an educational consultant, she works alongside organisations to assess their educational and training needs in order to develop their programmes accordingly. She is the author of textbooks and educational materials on issues of citizenship, democracy and human rights that have sold more than 1,000,000 copies in Mexico over the last school years.
