Abstract
Novice nurses often lack cardiac arrest training, jeopardizing patient outcomes and staff confidence. This pilot project addressed gaps in CPR preparedness, early recognition, timely response, and confidence among nurse residents. The goal was to develop, implement, and evaluate a competency-based code blue simulation to strengthen the residents’ knowledge and skills. Professional Development Specialists will learn strategies for integrating a code blue simulation experience into a nurse residency curriculum to enhance patient safety.
