Abstract
A new teaching methodology has emerged in nursing over the past decade. Clinical simulation utilizing high fidelity life-like manikins to train students and staff is more than the equipment. The methodology is more important and faculty development is key. While not specific to schools of nursing or hospitals, this new methodology is equally important in both. A statewide alliance is needed to bridge the gap between education and service and from a statewide perspective, to create a common language and standardization around simulation provides can increase efficiency, streamline processes and enhance learning. The application and implications of the study for the Health Systems Leadership Doctorate of Nursing Practice is described in this paper as the creation of the California Simulation Alliance has been formed.
