Abstract
This paper analyzes and compares the business cultures of China and the West, conducting its primary data analysis by collecting and processing primary data through interviews. Furthermore, it stresses the importance of cross-cultural knowledge and cultural understanding during business negotiations. By incorporating Hofstede’s cultural dimensions theory, this research argues that various aspects of culture have a significant impact on various forms of personal and business interactions between individuals. Using case studies, this analysis illustrates this principle: failure to understand cultural differences and norms mark the difference between a successful negotiation versus a project that fails. The study will show significant differences in Western and Chinese business cultures and contain recommendations that promote mutual understanding and acceptance.
