Abstract
Interruptions are a disruption in a nurses’s routine, thereby causing a break in work and thought process. Medication administration demands full attention from nurses to ensure accurate doses, preparations and administration. Triaging interruptions can help to decrease the inevitable distractions interruptions can cause and allows the nurse to focus on his/her patient. Hopefully, this change in practice will allow nurses to provide quality bedside care that fosters safe practices and holistic, patient-centered care.
