Abstract
This capstone project lays out a project plan for an annual event for children with disabilities, I Can! Kid -Abilities Day, presented at the Brooklyn Children's Museum on October 121 h, 2014. The project is based on my experience organizing this educational event. I focus on the operational needs of planning and implementing it, as well as, outreach and evaluation. A background description of the institution and project is presented. I have also detailed and analyzed each task that was accomplished in order to make this event successful. Also included is a Request For Proposal in order to gain funding for future Access programs and events, as well as, two mock responses. Attached is an annotated bibliography that provides sources relating to Autism, museum events, and programs designed for children with disabilities. Examples of all of the materials that were created for the event are proved in the appendices. My hope is that this capstone project will be helpful to museum professionals everywhere who are developing Access programs or events in their museum.
