Abstract
Verifying the Informed Consent for a patient’s surgery is a vital component of the preoperative process that a nurse usually facilitates. Optimally, the verifying process should be a streamlined, consistent process, that is communicated accurately and effectively, with evidence-based research being the foundational pillar. Replacing a less effective process with a streamlined process may save substantial time and energy, which is essential for delivering quality care and achieving peak effectiveness (Cook, 2014).
